Inspire Congress
August 4, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Millennials will take the stage today from 1:00PM to 5:00PM as they tell their stories in this year’s Inspire Congress, a one-day event organized by The Philippine STAR and Philippine STAR Campus, in partnership with Colegio de San Juan de Letran.
Nine millennials, who are prime movers in their respective industries, will talk about what inspires them to pursue their passion in front of hundreds of students at the SC Auditorium of Letran.
The event will begin with Millennial Talks, where four millennials will tackle about their own stories of pursuing their passion. UP alumnus Vince Liban will talk about millennials and their fight for equality, while Letran Student Council’s Secretary Nico Aquino will be discussing the role of millennials in fighting for a more sustainable planet.
Janessa Tek-ing will give the audience a glimpse of how millennials thrive in the workplace, while Levi Jun Miscala will talk about his experience on teaching for a public school.
The second part of the event will feature five more speakers who are also making waves in their chosen field of endeavor, while not losing the drive to make a change in other people’s lives.
La Carnita Modern Mexican Cantina’s founder Aiza Mesina will talk about what made her decide to venture into food business. Special Education teacher Royce Salva, on the other hand, will discuss his views on the special education in the country. Tiffany Uy, a student-leader, will discuss how she succeeded despite having lupus.
National Youth Commission’s Perci Cendaña will discuss the role of millennials in nation-building, while Teach for the Philippines’ Micaela Bautista will give audience a glimpse of the change young people do when they decide to teach in the country’s public schools.
Inspire Congress is in line with The Philippine STAR’s 31st anniversary, themed Inspire. The Philippine STAR believes that it is through inspiration that people dream big dreams and accomplish them with grace and grit.
The event is for free and is open to everyone. For tickets, you may visit www.bitly.com/InspireCongress.
