Manila – The Intramuros Administration (IA) officially launches the Intramuros App on 11 June 2025, marking a significant milestone in the agency’s push towards more accessible, engaging, and technology-enabled heritage tourism.
Developed in close collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the CIIT College of Arts and Technology, and with support from the Department of Tourism, this new app serves as a digital gateway for tourists and history enthusiasts exploring the Walled City.
This launch represents Phase 1 of a broader digital transformation initiative by IA. Ongoing improvements are in development with DOST and CIIT to expand the application’s features and enhance the user experience.
Intramuros Administrator Joan Padilla said “this new app is designed to enhance the overall tourism experience by making information and services more accessible and user-friendly. From discovering historic sites, walking tours, cultural events, accredited tour guides, restaurants, local shops, and other exciting experiences, it can now be found in one place, right at your fingertips. Whether you’re planning to visit or exploring from afar, the Intramuros app brings the Walled City to you, anytime and anywhere.”
Visitors can also access links to site booking platforms and tour reservations. The app includes real-time updates on events and announcements, and supports IA’s sustainability goals by promoting digital information access and reducing paper use across visitor centers.
The Intramuros App may be accessed via app.intramuros.gov.ph.
As the IA continues to adopt innovative digital tools, the Intramuros App will serve as a foundation for future enhancements in tourism management, education, and heritage preservation, promising an enhanced experience for visitors to the Walled City.
