The Intramuros Administration, in partnership with the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM, University of the City of Manila) organized last Friday, 25 August 2017, a public lecture in line with the latter’s co-hosting of the Museo del Prado en Filipinas Traveling Exhibit, at the Bukod Tanging Bulwagan, with Dr. Carlos Madrid, Director of the Instituto Cervantes, as guest speaker who discussed about the Filipino artist and patriot Juan Luna y Novicio in his talk From Luna to the World: An Overview of European and Philippine Art Connections.
As part of the Museo del Prado en Filipinas Traveling Exhibit, the lecture series are organized by the Intramuros Administration every month. The exhibit was first launched at the Plaza Roma last June 9, with Prado Curator Esther de Frutos gracing the first public lecture, before being transferred to the open field of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila last August 1, IA’s first partner institution after the unveiling. The exhibit will run until August 31, where it is scheduled to be transferred to the ASEAN Garden, with the Lyceum of the Philippines as co-host for the month of September.
