The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (University of the City of Manila) also known as PLM held their 50th Anniversary last July 17, 2017 with the theme “PLM @ 50: Celebrating Excellence.”

As part of their anniversary program, the university prepared a weeklong program (July 17 – 21, 2017) entitled “A Week at a Glance.”

The weeklong celebration started with a motorcade around Intramuros, opening of their University Fair, and  is highlighted by the turnover of their newly constructed building. Their Center for Gender Equality – ECCD program was also launched with Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada, Dr. Ma. Leonora V. De Jesus, and Former Senator Teresa Aquino – Oreta as their special guests. The first night ended with a Candle Lighting and a Battle of the Bands.

The following days were jam packed with a Dance Battle, a pageant entitled “Ginoo at Binibining Pamantasan,” and a Thanksgiving Concert to wrap everything up. Musical programs were also added; first with “Musicapella: Sing Out Pamantasan,” and a PLM Musikahan Lecture from Maestro Ryan Cayabyab.

As one of the universities that is situated inside the walls of Intramuros, the partnership between PLM and the Intramuros Administration is unwavering; supporting each other’s activities whenever possible.
