The Wild Bird Photographers of the Philippines (WBPP), in partnership with the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation (FPPF) and the Department of Tourism, launched the Ibong Malaya: The Philippines’ Avian Treasures photo exhibit today, 12 June 2017, at the Chambers of the Baluartillo de San Francisco Javier in Fort Santiago, Intramuros. The indoor exhibit ​is open to the public and ​will run until 12 July 2017. 

Coinciding with the nationwide celebration of Philippine Independence day, two coffee table books were also launched: Haring Ibon, by Mr. ​Alain Pascua, Department of Education Undersecretary; and Sultada by FPPF President ​Mr. ​Pablo Beltran. Mr. Pascua and Mr. Beltran also led the ribbon-cutting ceremonies, together with the guests of honor Dr. Leonor Briones, Secretary of the Department of Education; Ms. Cynthia Lazo, CESO III, Director IV of the Market Development Group (MDG) – Niche Medical Travel and Wellness Tourism of the Department of Tourism; and Ms. Merceditas de Sahagun, Chief of the Finance and Administration Division at the Intramuros Administration.
