A Round Table Discussion with experts on museology, art and architecture history, and heritage conservation was organized today, 01 June 2017 at the Bayleaf Hotel, by the Intramuros Administration. The consultation activity aimed to present the plans and intentions of the Intramuros Administration on the reconstructed San Ignacio Church in Arzobispo Street vis-à-vis its new function as an ecclesiastical museum to be known as the future Museo de Intramuros, and for the Administration to hear and take note the comments and possible recommendations of the experts. The one-day affair included a detailed introduction on the San Ignacio Church, a site visit and inspection of the Museo de Intramuros, and a consultation proper.

Gracing the event were 16 experts: Arch. Reynado Lita, representing Dr. Rene Escalante, Chair of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines; John Paul Orillo and Amado Alvarez, representing Virgilio Almario, Chair of the National Commission on Culture and the Arts; Jeremy Robert Barns, Executive Director of the National Museum; Erik Akpedonu of the Institute of Philippine Culture of the Ateneo de Manila University, who also represented Prof. Dr. Fernando Nakpil Zialcita; Dr. Patrick Flores, Curator of the Jorge Vargas Museum; Ar. Bettina Bulaong, Executive Director of the Escuela Taller de Filipinas Foundation; Prof. Regalado Jose, Archivist of the University of Santo Tomas; Prof. Dr. Gerard Lico of the College of Architecture of the University of the Philippines Diliman; Prof. Manuel Noche of the College of Architecture of the University of Santo Tomas; Arch. Michael Manalo, who represented Assoc. Prof. Erik Zerudo, Director of the University of Santo Tomas Center for Conservation of Cultural Properties and Environment in the Tropics; Martin Galan and Atty. Michelle Galan of the House of Pre-Cast; Dr. Jaime Laya, former Action Officer of the Intramuros Administration; and Dr. Esperanza Gatbonton and Martin Imperial Tinio, former consultants of the Intramuros Administration.
