Museo ni Jose Rizal Fort Santiago will hold a lecture entitled Muebles de Rizaliana: Appreciation Through Preservation that features various furniture donated by the Rizal family. In 1954, the granddaughter of Dr. Jose Rizal, Mrs. Purisima V. Villaroman, loaned a variety of furniture owned by the Rizal family to Rizal Shrine Fort Santiago. This selection of furniture includes a dining table, hat and umbrella rack, platera and aparadores and a variety of chairs – only of the few remaining muebles which the Rizal family have entrusted to the National Historical Institute (former NHCP) in exchange for a selection of furniture from the Bureau of Prison.

A special furniture gallery shall be formally opened to the public entitled Puente Historico: Muebles de Patrimonio. These all will be held on the 13th day of September 2018 at museum’s Audio-Visual Presentation Room, 1PM.
