On September 1, 2017, the Archdiocese of Manila will open the 5th year of the Season of Creation and the 2nd year of the World Day of Prayer for Creation declared by Pope Francis. The theme of this year’s celebration is: Caring for Our Common Home in Communion of Communities. It is the spirit of Laudato Si, On Care for our Common Home, the encyclical of Pope Francis the world where all citizens of this planet are requested to collaborate in saving our planet for the next generations.

The Season of Creation will run from September 1 to October 4, 2017 and Kick Off Activities will be on September 1 at Plaza Roma.

1. 8:00 am to 4:00 pm – Simultaneous Exhibit with mini workshop of the various solutions to the ecological problems we have in the urban areas by various environment NGOs & government agencies.
2. 8:30 am to 9:30 am – Free short orientation/seminar on Natural Farming for Spirituality & Wellness.
3. 8:30 am to 11:00 am – Laudato Si Conference Logo making contest for college Fine Arts students
4. 1:45 pm to 3:30 pm – Mural design drawing contest for the elementary & high school students
5. 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm – Short closing program

There will be a Reflection Session on the Impacts of Climate change with calamity victims and experts at 10:30 am to 12:00 nn and Sacred Heart Devotion for God’s creation inside the Cathedral during the 12:10 mass.
