IA, DOT, tour guides gather for DOT’s 50th Anniversary

Intramuros Administrator Atty. Joan Padilla joined the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Department of Tourism which was held at Casa Blanca inside Plaza San Luis Complex, Intramuros, Manila.

Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, along with other officials from the Department, organized a modest lunch gathering for tour guides and leaders of tour guide associations. The purpose of this event was to acknowledge the commendable efforts of these front-liners in promoting Philippine tourism despite the difficulties and obstacles brought about by the pandemic.

To express gratitude for the unwavering commitment of the tourism front-liners, Secretary Frasco personally handed out goodie baskets to each attendee. These baskets were filled with essential items that would be beneficial in their roles as tour guides, such as a lapel microphone, sunglasses, hat, and various accessories.
