Intramuros is “Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction” for 2022

Intramuros was named “Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction” at the 29th World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam last September 7.

This is the third time Intramuros has received this honor, previously received in 2016 and 2020. The Walled City has been nominated annually since 2016.

Apart from strengthening tourism, this recognition boosts the morale of our cultural workers and tourism frontliners.

Established in 1993, the London-based WTA acknowledges excellence in the travel and tourism industry in three tiers: country, regional, and world awards across different categories.

WTA is known as the “Oscars” of the travel industry.
