Ma. Luisa Camagay, Ph.D. is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of History, University of the Philippines Diliman. Her research interests are history of women, urban history, and local history. She has the following degrees: Doctorat de Troisieme Cycle en histoire, Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris, France, 1982; Maitrise en geographie, Universite de Paris I (Pantheon-Sorbonne), 1979; Master of Arts in Teaching (Social Studies), University of the Philippines, 1972; and a Bachelor of Science in Eduation (Major in History), University of the Philippines, 1970.
A multi-awarded author, she is a recipient of the the following: National Book Awards (1995 and 2006), Chevalier de Palmes Academiques (2006), Patnubay ng Sining at Kalinangan (2006), “Natataging Guro”Gawad Chancellor (2013), and Professor Emeritus (2016).

About the Intramuros Learning Sessions
The Intramuros Learning Sessions (ILS) is the educational webinar series of the Intramuros Administration (IA). The IA is an attached national government agency under the Department of Tourism.
Topics are interdisciplinary and cover themes related to Intramuros and Manila studies, Philippine studies, as well as cultural heritage studies. Pursuant to IA’s charter, the ILS aims to contribute to the strengthening of the Filipino’s national identity and sense of belonging and pride.
