Manila – Intramuros is set to elevate tourist experience in the historic Walled City as it soon opens Centro de Turismo Intramuros.

The center will rise along Calle Arzobispo, on the ruins of San Ignacio Church. One of the original seven churches of Intramuros, San Ignacio Church was renowned for its architectural marvel until its tragic destruction during the Battle of Manila in 1945.

This restoration project was spearheaded by the Office of First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, an advocate of historical and heritage preservation, in partnership with the Department of Tourism and the Intramuros Administration.

Centro de Turismo Intramuros will be a comprehensive tourist hub that will feature a museum and amphitheater and serve as a versatile events space.

With its extensive display of exhibits and artifacts, the center will offer an immersive narrative of Intramuros, from its rich past starting from pre-colonial times until its present and future development.

Centro de Turismo will be officially launched this June 2024.
