Moy Ortiz (with the legal name of Vadim Sisenand Villaluz Ortiz) has been singing harmony all his life. From his earliest years in primary school to his final year in the Ateneo de Manila University, Moy has sung in choirs. As a chorister, he has performed all over the world with the Ateneo College Glee Club and the UP Concert Chorus.

After an eye-opening summer jazz workshop at the famed Manhattan School of Music, he joined the voice department and vocal performance workshop faculty of The Music Studio of Ryan Cayabyab in Manila and taught there for eight years.

At about the same time, he, along with 11 friends from his university choir years, formed a chamber vocal ensemble called “The CompanY”. After thirty-four years and twenty seven studio albums that have garnered 64 music industry awards, The CompanY has become the Philippines’ premiere vocal group. Currently, Moy is the artistic director, musical director, composer, vocal arranger and artist representative (talent manager) of that group.

Through the years, he has delved into album and concert production. His efforts as a performer, songwriter and record producer have won him several Awit and Katha Awards for compositions, arrangement works and recording performances, culminating in Album of the Year Awards from the Awit, Katha and Catholic Mass Media Awards.

Moy has also worked on musical plays (Fiddler on the Roof, CATS, the zarzuela “Paglipas Ng Dilim” and a Filipino Original musical by APO’s Jim Paredes, “Bayani”, commercial jingles, stage direction, vocal coaching , script writing and as a voice talent. He has assumed the role of executive producer and line producer in the last ten major concerts of The CompanY. Moy was also the label manager of Pop Art Music/ Viva

Records whose artists included Bituin Escalante, Pops Fernandez, Dexter and The CompanY. Moy is behind the pop classic hits: Pagdating ng Panahon, Everlasting Love, Pakisabi Na Lang, Akala Mo, Baka Ikaw, Kaya Pala, Puso sa Puso, Muling Aawit Ang Pasig, etc.

As a record producer, Moy has produced for the hit albums of Sarah Geronimo, Rachel Anne Go, Christian Bautista, Aiza Seguerra, Agot Isidro and the R&B group 17:28 (just to name a few). Moy has also co-produced in the hit albums of Aiza Seguerra, Bituin Escalante, Pops Fernandez and Dexter under his label Pop Art Music (Viva Records). Moy has also produced and composed several commercial and corporate jingles for Johnson and Johnson, Nescafe, Jollibee, Sun Life Canada, Avon, KFC, Panasonic, Maria Clara Sangria, Pentel pen, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Ovaltine, Global Bank, Airlift Asia, Johnson and Johnson, National Sports Commission, Eidel Fitre Celebrations, Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation, PSAAI, Alliance – PNB Life.

Moy has worked on six commercial campaigns for the Solaire Resorts and Casino. Moy Ortiz has written, arranged and produced the official jingles of the Solaire Resort and Casino in 2017. Entitled, “Follow The Sun” and “You Just Know It’s Christmas” the Solaire jingles were recorded by Martin Nieverra. This Christmas song garnered Moy and The CompanY their 64th music industry award.

Moy (with The CompanY) has also had the pleasure of working with international acts like The Manhattan Transfer (three times), Ambrosia, John Ford Coley, David Pomeranz, Jim Brickman, Noel Pointer, David Pack, Yutaka Yokokura, Singapore’s Dick Lee, Steve Tyrell and Basia. 



In 2006, Moy wrote, produced and appeared in an instructional audio / video kit on vocal warm ups and workouts for contemporary pop singers, a first of its kind in Philippine recording, entitled “Singing Like A Champ: Vocal Warm up/ Workout with The CompanY” to be released by Viva Records. This was the year where Moy was also part of the music faculty of the talent search hit television show – Pinoy Dream Academy Season 1.

As a vocal arranger, Moy has won the Best Vocal Arrangement at the Awit Awards five times throughout the decades.

During the summer months in the Philippines (April and May) , Moy has been teaching a vocal performance workshop at the defunct UMPI (2006) and presently Trumpets Playshop (2007 to present). The highly successful workshop entitled “Starpower” caters to the children, teens, young adults and adults markets.

In 2012, Moy Ortiz together with his singing partners in The CompanY have become part of the music faculty of the Asian Academy for Television Arts.

Since 2014, Moy Ortiz has been part of the faculty of Meridian International College (popularly known as Mint College) located at McKinley Hills in Taguig City, Metro Manila. Moy for the last three years has been teaching the elective – Theater Arts 15 – Solo and Choral Singing.

In 2015, Moy was part of reality TV and talent search show – To The Top; the search for the Filipino Boy Band on the GMA Network alongside Maestro Ryan Cayabyab and fellow CompanY singing partners: Sweet Plantado and Oj Mariano.

2016 and 2017 found Moy co producing, arranging and promoting an album series of The CompanY entitled Nostalgia and Nostalgia 2 respectively for Universal Records Philippines. The album launches of Nostalgia and Nostalgia 2 were both filmed for television music specials on MYX.

Moy Ortiz is composing and producing his magnum opus; an a cappella mass entitled “Mass Pop”. The mass will feature various vocal groups in each section namely: The Ateneo Chamber Singers, The CompanY, Pinopela, The Ryan Cayabyab Singers, Acapellago, The Philippine Madrigal Singers and veteran studio session singers – Babsie Molina and Sylvia Macaraeg.

Moy has conceptualised and produced (alongside Ryan Cayabyab and Noel Ferrer) an annual 6-day Filipino Music Festival entitled “Pinoy Playlist” for the BGC Arts Center. Scheduled in October every year, Pinoy Playlist will feature more than a hundred Filipino Music Artists performing music we can call our very own – Original Pilipino Music. The Pinoy Playlist Music Festival has recently celebrated its second year to an even bigger crowd of audience.

Moy Ortiz is also involved in the creation of the Original Pilipino Music archives in which important documents relevant to the development, creation and flourishing of contemporary Filipino music in the 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s and early 1990’s will be safely stored, curated and collated at Ayala Corporation’s Filipinas Heritage Library.

In 2020, Moy is writing, producing, directing and in production with his 10 episode online songwriting workshop to be distrubuted digitally by Stages under the Stages Homeroom division.
