The Intramuros Administration organized a workshop on the drafting of the Gender Mainstreaming Policy last July 17-18, 2017 at View Park Hotel, Tagaytay City. The consultation was attended by the Administration’s Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) Executive Committee, Technical Working Group and other IA officers.

With the guidance of the invited resource speaker and gender specialist Jemelle Z. Millanes, the workshop participants incorporated GAD in the functions of the six (6) divisions in the organization.  The draft also included international and national mandates on gender, as well as definition of terms.

The GFPS Executive Committee reviewed the draft on August 8 and submitted it to Administrator Guiller Asido for his comments.  With inputs from the Administrator, Office Order No. 2017-0357 on “Mainstreaming GAD in Policies, Guidelines, Programs, Projects and Activities” was issued on August 18, 2017.
