Guest speaker Esther de Frutos, Head of the Education Department of the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid, delivered a talk at the Salon de Marmol of the Ayuntamiento in Manila today, June 9, 2017, culminating the launching of the Prado Exhibit at Plaza Roma, which was officially opened earlier prior the lecture, by the Administrator of Intramuros Atty. Guiller Asido and Exmo. Sr. Luis Antonio Calvo, Ambassador of Spain to the Philippines.

De Frutos gave a brief background on the Museo del Prado followed by a discussion on the Museum’s Prado en las Calles, a traveling exhibit project by the Museo del Prado featuring 53 life-sized photographic print reproductions of masterpieces from the Museo in Spain, including works from the masters of the 12th to 19th Centuries, such as Beato Angelico, El Greco, Velasquez, Goya, and Rembrandt, among others.  The project has toured around many important cities around the world and is now available for public viewing at the Plaza Roma in Intramuros until July 31, 2017.
