Intramuros Learning Sessions episode no. 33

Overview

The need for extensive and proper documentation of tangible and intangible properties in the Philippines is more important than ever given the constant threat of destruction and demolition particularly of built heritage. The Philippine Registry of Cultural Property (PRECUP) aims to document as many cultural properties as possible in order for these to be listed for declaration on the national level as national cultural treasures, national landmarks, and/or other similar designations. Such declaration and listing, which is conducted by the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts’ (NCCA) and its PRECUP arm, also helps streamline the list for proper organization and seamless processing of documentation mainly coming from various regions in the country.
