About the speakers

J. Anton Mendoza

J. Antonio Mendoza has built an interior design career who is known for his pristine and elegant modern designs of residences, restaurants, hotels, commercial establishments and institutions. A master of clarity and glamour, his excellence in interior design has given him recognition in countless publications in the in the field of design locally and internationally. His design practice was established in 1991. He is the design principal of the firm J. Antonio Mendoza Architects. Mendoza is 100% Philippine-trained and holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the 400-year- old Royal and Pontifical Universidad de Santo Tomas, Manila.

Toto Gonzalez

Augusto Gonzalez III, known in his circle as “Toto,” is a lifelong student of Philippine and World history. His priorities in life are books and plants. He is the specialist for antique Filipino furniture at the Leon Gallery. Gonzalez works in the real estate industry. He attended De La Salle University and the University of the Philippines. He is descended from old Pampanga and Manila families.


About the Intramuros Learning Sessions

The Intramuros Learning Sessions (ILS) is the educational webinar series of the Intramuros Administration (IA). The IA is an attached national government agency under the Department of Tourism. 

Topics are interdisciplinary and cover themes related to Intramuros and Manila studies, Philippine studies, as well as cultural heritage studies. Pursuant to IA’s charter, the ILS aims to contribute to the strengthening of the Filipino’s national identity and sense of belonging and pride.
