The Intramuros Administration, in partnership with WTA Architecture and Design Studio’s The Book Stop Project, Kaya ng Pinoy, and KAISA Para Sa Kaunlaran Inc. organized a talk last 22 July 2017 showcasing and relating the story of the balangay, the first wooden watercraft excavated in Southeast Asia. It highlighted the pre-colonial evidence of Filipino craftsmanship and their seamanship.

Gracing the occasion as guest speakers were Usec. Arturo Valdez (Team leader of the Balangay expedition) and Ms. Teresita Ang See (Founder of KAISA Para Sa Kaunlaran Inc.). The lecture was then followed by a tranvia ride from Fort Santiago to AirJuan Seaplane Terminal inside the CCP Complex where participants were able to experience going on board the balangay.
