As IA celebrates its 40th year anniversary, it acknowledges that the Intramuros community is imperative in the promotion, protection and development of the Walled City. The WE ARE INTRAMUROS music festival is an initiative of the IA and co-presented by Manila Bulletin and MB Life to encourage engagement and involvement in community-led efforts to revitalize Intramuros, promote Intramuros as a prime location for music festivals, promote Philippine music and to encourage Filipino creativity by discovering new bands/artists from the Intramuros community.

The Intramuros Administration entered into a memorandum of agreement with Manila Bulletin to be the media partner and co-presenter for this event.

This is also powered by, ILVSTRADOS, a community of volunteers of alumni, students and artists from different schools in Intramuros behind the Intramuros Rising music festival (2014-2016).

It will be an alumni homecoming for these Intramuros homegrown bands who were launched during the Intramuros Rising: Wasted Wendy (Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila), Caffeine and Taurine (Mapua University), Shutter Life (Mapua University & Colegio de San Juan de Letran), Sky Garden (Lyceum of the Philippines), Saving the Dying Hope (Mapua University), False Contender (Lyceum of the Philippines).

Two new bands from Intramuros, The Bed Bites (with a member who is a resident) and Cherry (Mapua University), are performing in the Puerta Real stage for the first time. They were selected from an open call audition specifically for the We Are Intramuros music festival.

Headliners are Orange & Lemons, Droppout & Rhyne, Kiyo & Allison Shore, Morning Goodness, Munimuni, Ang Bandang Shirley with guest performers JB Bacallan and Beat Brothers.

The We Are Intramuros music festival is free and open to the public. Performances start at 5PM. Visit bit.ly/WeAreIntramuros for more details.
