The Intramuros Administration, in cooperation with Alliance Francaise de Manille, the Embassy of France to the Philippines, and B-Side Productions mounted the 23 rd anniversary of Fete in Manila last June 23 and gathered up-and- coming and established performing artists to provide a night of good music, free of charge to the general public.

Initially launched by the French Ministry of Culture on the day of the summer solstice on June 21, 1985, the annual tradition has spread to over 100 countries including the Philippines.

This year’s Fete de la Musique in Intramuros was held at Puerta Real Gardens and has gathered guests from different sectors of the society. Starting at four in the afternoon, the band Ben and Ben opened the show followed by Outerhope, Sud, We Are Imaginary, Ang Bandang Shirley and Ron Henley. The jamming continued until late evening as the audience were treated to more music by Jensen and the Flips, Bras Pas Pas Pas X Switchtrik X B-boy Garcia, Autotelic and by Kjwan to cap off the evening.

With the support of the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), Fete de la Musique gave our local artists an opportunity to showcase their talents in historic Intramuros.
